Oakengates Carnival 2022|

Oakengates Town Council has signed the Armed Forces Covenant at a ceremony in the Borough this month.

The council has signed the covenant as we continue to build on the excellent relationship with the forces locally and to foster links between our organisation, our residents and the forces’ own communities.

The Mayor of Oakengates, Cllr. Stephen Reynolds said;

“We are proud of the strong links we have with both our Armed Forces and Veterans and we recognise the sacrifices that our many military families locally make every day. Signing the Armed Forces Covenant is a public pledge of support for the Armed Forces and their families.”

By signing an Armed Forces Covenant we as a local authority are making a public pledge of support and recognise the daily sacrifices serving military and their families make for us in order to serve our country and protecting others.

Alongside this Oakengates Town Council has had a long and proud history supporting veterans and the local Royal British Legion Branch. Veterans are welcome to The Outpost Café and most Saturdays we hold a Veteran’s breakfast.
