Walk-through test site set to open

The site build of a new walk-through coronavirus testing facility has begun in Oakengates– meaning there are now a total of seven testing sites in Telford and Wrekin.

This means that there is plenty of testing capacity and lots of slots available for anyone who has symptoms of the virus to get tested as quickly as possible.

The new site will take up a small area in the Theatre Car park.
Once open, there will be five walk-through testing centres in the borough, with two drive-through ones located in Ironbridge and Hollinswood.

Anyone with any of the three key coronavirus symptoms, however mild, can get a free swab test at the site that takes less than a minute.

Tests at the site should be booked or ordered as soon as symptoms begin at nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling 119.
