Youth Council Committee
The Youth Council are here to represent all 13-19 year olds in a 3 mile radius of Oakengates. We hold council meetings every Tuesday in Oakengates at the Council Chambers. The Council consists of 9 temporary members, as we are an interim council at the moment, and we will be having our first official election in the spring of next year. Our council consists of; Mayor, Tom Evans, Deputy Mayor, Luke Nagington, Jake Armour, Joel Treharne, Andrew Smart, Andrew Constable, Jessica Neal and Christina Thompson.
We run events such as the fishing trip we had a couple of months ago, this had a brilliant turnout and went fantastically. We are in the middle of arranging a few more trips such as pony trekking, a trip to Manchester, another fishing trip and a skiing trip to France in 2012/3. Also starting in November we shall be taking over a free hour of Monday Night Sports at Oakengates Leisure Centre for people aged 13-19.
