What is the Job Club?
The Oakengates Job Club opened on 27 January 2011 and since then there has been over 280 visits by members of the public. The main aim is:
Whilst it is difficult to put a figure on the number of people who have secured employment, we do know the vast majority of those people have had a positive experience, just talking to the advisers, having a cup of coffee and generally networking with other job seekers.
Many have needed help with their CV’s, some say they have never needed a CV but in today’s climate where the ratio of jobs to people is in the region of 1:25 there is fierce competition. But also to claim Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) they must show they are actively seeking employment, and having a CV prepared is the first stage of that process. There is an abundance of support and encouragement available at the Job Club to assist people in seeking that elusive job, training or opportunity to make use of their enthusiasm and talents.
The advisors are available every Thursday from 12 noon to 3pm at the Civic Offices, Oakengates and everybody is welcome.
